The Staff and Board of Directors here at Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels would like to provide an update to our neighbors and clients during this unprecedented global pandemic.
It is important to assure our clients and their family members that our kitchen practices and procedures meet all of the ServSafe requirements for Food Safety and we have taken additional safety and cleaning precautions internally to further reduce any risks.
We have transitioned into a “No Contact” Delivery system where we are asking clients/caregivers to maintain a 6 foot distance during the delivery process. We have armed our volunteers with additional personal protective gear such as gloves and sanitizer. This allows us the opportunity to check on our clients but also reduce the risk of passing any germs. Any current volunteers that felt that they may be at greater risk to continue helping the operation were encouraged to stay home until they feel more comfortable. We appreciate all the individuals that have stepped up in the interim to assist us during this time.
Finally, We take a minute to remember that the Town of Tonawanda is truly a Great Place to Live, Work and Play. Together we will continue to support our neighbors in need to the best of our ability during these trying times. Be Well!
